Welcome! Come on in and stay a while. Here we hope to have the latest stuff about our Dasher community, including pictures, grid files to download, and much more!
For the time being various information about Dasher will be posted here in a random fashion.
A quick explanation of how Dasher works:
During playback of a selected media file the various columns turn the selected circuits on or off based on the elapsed time of the media file.
Example: Let's say you have 4 columns in the grid. At the tops of these columns are the timings 00:01.00, 00:02.50, 00:04.00, and 00:05.50. Within each column you have the ability to click on various cells to turn them blue or white. A blue cell means a circuit will be on and a white cell means a circuit will be off. When you press the PLAY button the selected media file will begin playing. When you are 1 second into the song the first column will execute. This is because the first column has a timing value of 00:01.00. When you are 2 and a half seconds into the song the second column will execute because it has a timing value of 00:02.50 an so on.
When a column executes it turns on and off the circuits associated with each row in the grid.
Once you provide a media file to Dasher you can then set up the timing of the grid file's columns and determine what circuits you want on and off and when you want them on or off based on the timing of the media file.
The Audio Wizard plays back the media file you selected and records the timing (based on the playback of the media file) of your mouse clicks. When you are done using the Audio Wizard (i.e. click OK) all those timings are then transferred back to the grid and placed at the top of the columns in the grid.
